Careers Update
The Careers Programme has started with a bang this year with a group of prospective UCAS early entry students from Year 13 visiting New College Oxford in the first week of term.
TBOWA are proud to be one of only about 30 state schools participating in the aspirational New College Step Up Programme. After a productive session working with Oxford academics to fine tune their UCAS Personal Statements, the group got to tour New College to experience what life might be like as an Oxford student.
The Step Up Programme aims to ensure that students recognise Oxford as a realistic and achievable option for them in the future, and are fully equipped and supported to make a competitive application. Crucially, it is a sustained-contact scheme with students having regular, consistent contact with the College's Outreach team starting in Year 11 and throughout 6th Form.
All students can find out more about applying to Oxford, Cambridge or a leading Russell Group University, or the grades needed to study Medicine or Veterinary Science, using their personal Unifrog account. Unifrog is an award-winning, online careers platform, which provides a wide range of careers information on one single, impartial, user-friendly platform that helps students to research their different careers ideas by job role, subject, apprenticeship or course at any UK University. Find out more on the Unifrog page in the Careers section of the academy website and students can start their careers adventure today!
