Spiritual Development
Our definition of spiritual development:
Spiritual development is about discovering more fully who we are as unique people and understanding our connection to our community, the world, and God. This equips us to use our talents courageously, enabling us all to live life to the full.
Spiritual development is linked to our personal development and is part of the unique journey that we are all on. Our definition, written by students, staff and governors, acknowledges that each of us is on a journey of discovery – discovering more fully who we are as unique individuals, and exploring and understanding more fully our connection to our TBOWA community, the world, and God. Understanding who we are in this broad sense will equip us to use our talents courageously so that we and others can live life to the full.
Spiritual development is a key part of ‘The Bishop Way’, playing a key part in the students' education. The Spiritual Development Learning Journey outlines both the weekly opportunities that students encounter as part of The Bishop Way, as well as specific TBOWA calendar events that are observed, celebrated and explored, to stimulate and nurture our community and each individual to live life to the full.
