Your child should receive the ‘You are Awesome’ pack in the post. This is a great book, and an important read to help students transitioning from primary to secondary. We would like the students to complete the ‘You are Awesome’ project and expect them to bring their completed workbook and book into the Academy when we return in September.

The first session will be completed during the virtual transition schedule. The final session (session 9) will be completed during the first PSHE lesson in September. Sessions 2 to 8 should be completed independently. Session 2 has been pre-recorded by a teacher to help you along the way. The other session are on PowerPoints that you will need to follow. The book uses examples of successful people from Mozart to Serena Williams to demonstrate that success really is earned rather than given, and that talent can be acquired. Your child will receive a copy of the 'You Are Awesome' book during their transition days. Each section in the book comes with its own PowerPoint to go through and explain each activity. Linked PowerPoints will be added in due course.
